    Wind Rings

I have my ordinary hammock (not the Draumr) set up down in the woods along my footpath to the post office which is a mile away. It's about the half way point, and on a nice sunny day I often lay in it and daydream about where I'm going to go next summer, or about sailing the 7 seas, etc........ daydreams are free! It's a windy country here, and I was stuffing it frequently so it wouldn't be buffeted in the wind and fill up like a sail. I hit on the idea of "hammock rings". Metal rings that slide over the hammock and hold it closed. I took 3 small light weight carabiners and snapped them over it. They slide to the ends and allow the hammock to open, and when spaced out on the hammock keep it closed. It works quite well.... Velcro would work, but I don't much like velcro. I may make up some fabric or rope rings for the job. What do others do for this?

Maybe those elastic hair loops would work as well.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I personally wouldn't leave one out, but that's beside the point. Some simple shock cord toggle loops would work.

I have one of these for my lounging hammock that I keep up most of the summer. Keeps it mostly dry (heavy thunderstorms will let moisture in though).
