I just ordered one. Until we have hammocks anonymous guess I’ll keep ordering hammocks to try. Is it a problem? Maybe

What's the situation with non-Amok tarps & this hammock? I imagine my 11' DCF hammock tarp with doors would likely not work well...

I've used my Warbonnet Superfly (11'ridgeline/10' Wide) with mine.

I pooched the zipper on my Exped Scout Combi end of last season. It's over 5 years old, so while getting it fixed I thought I would try something different. I just ordered the 5.0 XL in green, Fjøl Winterlight XL, Skjold 10 Camo and the pole set. I found a 10% off coupon...SCOUTUT so it's all on the way. Weight is not a big issue since I primarily Moto camp...looking forward to trying it out.

Shug, thanks - my DCF tarp is 11x8.5. Likely won't get enough coverage, even though this UL hammock (regular size) appears to be 9" shorter than your XL.

Your video does, however, make a larger, superfly-sized tarp seem very viable. Thanks for being the codicil for the subject. I will continue to be the codpiece.

As a UL guy, the Dramur has always been the stuff of comfort fantasy. But dang, we are very much in the realm of a Ridgerunner or even lighter with this thing.

Two questions for the peanut gallery:
One: How does a mummy pad like a Neoair Xtherm or Xlite work with a Dramur? Poorly?
Two: How about their strap suspension? I'm seeing amsteel weight savings there. Anyone swap those out?

The pad baffles need to run head to toe so Neoair Xtherm or Xlite may not work.

So I emailed Amok and promptly got some helpful additional details:

The bug net is not a net.
It's the same material as the body, "Amok's Monofilament 20D Nylon - Double RS" which is apparently 1.0 oz/yd material. It's see-through enough that it works instead of netting.
The bug "net" & zipper weigh 7oz.
However - they are permanently attached and cannot be removed without damage. So you're not leaving it behind.

    Straps are 3.5oz.

Also - the guy who swapped whoopies is Tim Robson. He also just did a video on the new Dramur UL:

Amazing how transparent the material is.

Any concerns around breathability/ventilation of the new bug net? I would think it would have a big reduction leading to more stifling environment in warmer weather.
