I’m wanting to buy bug netting to make a bug net for my diy bridge hammock. Can any advise as to whether I should get nylon or polyester? And if you have a yardage that would be needed that would help also.

Recycled Polyester (earth friendly)
With the bug netting I have used so far, nylon has been a lot more stretchy than polyester. For a bottom entry bug sock, I liked the stretch, because it drapes better around the hammock. For integrated bug nets with zippers, I like less stretch better, because you don't need to prevent the net from stretching with the second hand when opening or closing the zipper. But basically you can use both: they will both keep out the bugs.
Interesting, I never thought to consider the fabric beyond oz/sq yd : lightest possible wt vs a bit more durability. Having just finished making a bottom entry net with nano noseeum, I’m surprised at just how bulky it is.
It does not pack down very well. Any size/stuff differences between the two fabrics?
Also, re the op’s request for yardage... it depends on your hammock size: most can get by with around 7 - 7.5 yds. Check out Fronsky’s video in the how to section of the forum for a great a tutorial on bug nets.

WT/SQ YD= .87 oz. 100% polyester netting.
WT/SQ YD= .65 oz. 100% nylon netting.
I'm making the Grizz Bridge Ariel and trying to create a head to toe version of the half net he shows in tricking out the Ariel. I'm probably going to get 4 yds but thought I'd ask first for input.
I will check Fronkey's video for any knowledge I can glean from that. Thanks
