Help! My whoopie sling loop has swallowed itself

    https://m.imgur.com/KDQwrTzKDQwrTz.jpg

The bead on my whoopie sling loop came off and the loop has now swallowed itself. I'm trying to fish it out with some tweezers by pulling up strands of the dyneema but it's not really working.

I'm open to just cutting off the trailing end (8ft ish) and trying to fashion a new connection / whoopie from that buy I don't know if it would be long enough?

    Any help much appreciated!!

It is next to impossible to pull it out once it has turned inside out. You will probably find it easier to use the Amsteel to practice making your next whoopie. Put a small loop of zingit through the next whoopie just above the loop to prevent this happening again.

I’ve had decent luck fishing mine out several times. Needle nosed pliers and a dose of patients.

Been fishing around in there for a couple hours now and have made progress but its all so fluffed up its hard to know what's going on.

What's my best best with the leftover 9ft? Looks like a UCR would be good?

Experienced the same misfortune a couple of years ago. I spent 2-3 hours trying to get it right to no avail. All my whoopie slings now have a bead to prevent from repeating that mistake.

    Good luck.

You can use 9 ft to make backup dog bones or a few continuous loops. It would not go to waste. I had to recycle one of mine for the same reason.

I use to put a bead on the loop to prevent that, but after forgetting the bead I started using small zip ties.

I recently started making whoopies, so I’m certainly no expert. Instead of of a bead I started splicing a very small segment of amsteel into the loop. It’s clean and so far seems to work well. Anyone with more experience with me see any downsides to doing this instead of the bead?

All of that said, the next few I make will have Dutch whoopie hooks on them.

A nice wooden bead - you can buy a lifetime supply from Joann’s or Michael’s for $5 - $10 - looks real nice.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I use an Ashley's stopper knot in lieu of a bead. It's a good bit bulkier than a plain overhand knot.
