Hanging 101 for Toronto

Putting together my shopping list.
Plan
- hanging during bike trips so weight is key
- location will be southern Ontario. Tobermory south to Port Dover
- initially fair weather until I invest more and fifer more adventurous so May to Labour Day

Shopping list:
Dutch 1.6 chameleon with top cover (not bug net). Likely a sidecar
Already purchased AquaQuest safari 10x10 tarp. Already thinking I need lighter
Sleeping bag liner (silk or wool)
Top quilt enlightened revelation or SnugPack jungle blanket

Looking for feedback. What am I missing?
Sleeping 20-30C. Do I need the quilt or go with the blanket.

Obv if I do cooler weather I will look at UQ
Tarp. Recommended by LoneWolf902. Dutch seems to have a lighter version that may be easier to pack

I would look at an 11' tarp for the Chameleon. Make sure you center the hammock well under the tarp if you stick with a 10' tarp.\
Throw a pad in too if not using a UQ. Folks tend to get chilly on the backside around 1am even in warmer weather.

You might want to go with a net top, you may find the top cover a bit hot and muggy during
your normal 2-3 season usage in Ontario and surrounding areas.
I would highly suggest a 11' tarp. A 11' xenon tarp from DW would do the trick.
You will be kicking yourself centering your tarp over an 11' hammock.

Wouldn't take what LoneWolf says too concrete-like. There are a lot better sources for hammock gear.

Forget the jungle blanket- I use one at home indoors, or as extra insulation during the coldest part of the night. I always seem to camp when it gets down to 2-3C. Snugpak sells top quilts (own it) & under quilts (on Amazon.Ca) for hammocks. I paid $51 Cad for the top quilt in spring 2017. It’s a decent 3 season quilt, but being synthetic doesn’t pack small or light. You can also sometimes find Costco black diamond down throws for about $40 for two. They can make a decent top or under quilt (I think I would double them up).

I'm gonna second a bugnet, I like the fronkey style. Top covers seem to be more for the cooler weather, like spring/fall. You will cook in summer.

Just waiting for delivery now.

Hex 1.2 Chameleon with sym bugnet and beetles
UL 12ft tarp with side panel pullouts

Also have 150ft of 1.75 zing it for ridelines, etc a bunch of sbiners, and 3 hole tensioners.

Still need to sort out sleep system. Looking at wool bag liner and a pad of some sorts and then if I camp cool will look at UQ and TQ. Right now forecasted hangs will be in the 25C/75F temps.

I suspect I will burn a few GB in data with an iPad, YouTube vids (hi Shug ) practicing setting it all up quickly and efficiently.

Now to figure out packing all this stuff on a bike

What is your bike and how is it setup right now?
I have some of the gear needed and will probably be doing some short trips this summer.
