That's a shame.... I remember when this site was almost unrecognizable year to year from being overgrown. Evidently, others have found this spot as well.... Time to move...?..?

Hope the ticks hold off. My son picked up one yesterday in Albion, IN. Glad I saw it early on the back of his shirt on the collar.

I always wonder if I need to reapply after one year. I do it anyway, so it's possible it's overkill. Not sure if it breaks down just sitting in storage in my basement for 9 months.

It breaks down with exposure to UV and air. General consensus is you should retreat after 6 weeks but I've found it to be effective for longer. I'm guessing after 9 months of storage it's time for a respray.

Thanks. I'm sure I've read this in an old thread but forgot. Always worth a retreat no matter what going into april/may, especially on that first trip not knowing for sure.

I worked for a civil engineering firm when I got out of college and did a lot of land surveying. Back then I wore gaiters not for the trail detritus but to keep out ticks and protect against snake bites. I remember getting home after a long day and finding half a dozen or more ticks in my gear and occasionally attached to me in various places - found one attached to the inside of my belly button. It was before the days of Lyme disease and RMSF scares so I just checked it off as the price for spending a day in the woods. They still don't worry me that much today but I have gotten more vigilant about treating and retreating my gear.

I should be more clear. It's really the main trail that has the poop flower's. (Toilet paper) the site seems fine. No trash at all. Its the cat holes that bother me. I could also just have bad luck.
