Xenon Sil 1.1 life of water resistance question

So I searched but didn’t find anything that covered this. I found out that the silicone is applied in a pressurized bath during the manufacturing process which sounds to be a good way to make water resistance durable for the lifetime of the fabric design. But I’m lacking in fabric knowledge.

How long does the water resistance of the fabric last?

I’m assuming water resistance will last many years until the fabric shows signs of needing replacement due to normal wear from UV and other weather elements.

Does anyone find a need to retreat annually with something like Nikwax?

DWR coatings do eventually wear off. Enough wear on the fabric would cause it to lose it's water repellent properties I would think. I'd try Nikwax if I were you.

Thank you, that's a lot of use! Good to know it will most likely last a while.

Good point on the fabric having wear and tear. At this point, there is no abrasion or noticeable wear on the fabric on my tarp.
