The suggestion to loosen but not untie the knot to show more of the internal structure is your best bet.

That is what it look like. I think you got it. Too much going on So i just decided to go with an overhand knot. I tied shock cord to my tarp doors with mini carabiners to allow for easily setting the doors closed or open. To me, it is super convenient setting up my tarp that way. Anyone else set there tarp like this?
I did do that and I was so confused because it was just a regular sliding stopper knot with some weird configuration to use the long tag end. It was weird but I couldn't find out how to put the knot back together.
