Integrated vs bottom entry bug nets

Looking for experienced pros and cons of integrated vs bottom entry bug nets. No sure what I’ll go with. Like the potential simplicity of bottom entry but the netless hammocks seem to have less features like quilt hooks or tieouts. Not sure how important those are though.

I find zero need for any quilt hooks, with a properly adjusted underquilt
And I find no hammock tie outs, to be just plain simple and unneeded and one less thing to do

I have been happy with a separate bottom entry bugnet..
But I haven't gotten to try anything with a zippered one

For my DIY hammock, I use the summer sock from Dutch. I like the side zipper for entry, flexibility to remove it in the winter and a built in UQP

The one time I tried a bottom entry - there were bees around - I had a friend get in the hammock. To be fair, I don’t know if any critters got in from the bottom or via the Velcro closure on the ends. But being inside a net with a flying thing is not fun. Though, for a long time, I’ve switched to built-in bug nets, the fully enclosed zipper shut has fewer avenues of entrance to worry about - just the velcro closures on the ends. The downside is it is heavier because of the zipper and addition material. But one plus is you can sit in you hammock, with your legs out, (even stand if you are careful with the material and it’s sized for it) and still be enclosed in the protective net.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

If only there was a way to relieve ones’ self at night while still protected by bug net but far enough away to clear the hammock.

What’s the weight on the summer sock? The site doesn’t list one.

I've used both and I prefer the hammocks with an integrated bugnet. dream hammock and simply light designs both makes netless hammocks with quilt hooks and tieouts, hut if you using a bottom entry bugnet you won't be able to use the tieouts. I like having both quilt hooks and tieouts on my hammocks and I get quilt hooks on all my hammocks.

    Here

It gives you the weight after you select the options you want.

320g (11.3oz!) for the 11 footer... good argument for an integrated net and a UQ made with Argon 67 shell.
