Red River Gorge KY Hang Backpacking Trip

We are parking at the "P" below where it says "Footbridge" on KY 715, Go upstream along the Red River to the swinging bridge, cross the bridge & go downstream, at the base of the hill, go left UP the hill, at the top, go right Hiking south on the STT to almost where it connects to the east leg of the Rough trail. Camping is before & after where the rough goes hard left uphill & Koomer ridge trl continues up stream. Ill likely get there (parking lot) around noon & will try to be at the campsites before most, just in case. I'm probably not crossing the bridge, but wading across the River, just for fun. I may even go swimmin

Which direction does the river flow? Which direction is upstream? Where is the STT? (I think I see it now) My map(s) that I ordered came today! Combining those with the ones Pak-man sent should be quite a bit of info. I'm really looking forward to getting over there. It's a 6 hour drive from here. Can't wait.

From the right of the map to left. It is actually obvious / visible & the only way the access trail goes from the parking lot (starts just to the right of the info board, left of the trash cans).

The STT is trail 100 / Sheltowee Trace Trail.

& to Dirt: Yea, I was down there last year, found a neat spot about 3/4 mile from where you talked about going. A dream spot, but I likely won't get there for this trip.

Well fiddlesticks, I have plans that entire weekend. It would have been a great way to meek folks and see some hammys. Maybe next time.

Just found out that there are some road closings due to mud slides and flooding.

Below is a link that shows the issues.. Use extreme caution while traveling east through the NADA Tunnel.
