    My Warbonnet Blackbird and minifly tarp comes in at 2 1/2 pounds, and is affordable. My base weight is 14-15 pounds depending on the details. I can go lower, but 15 pounds is a nice balance of weight and comfort, and I can start a 4 day trip with less than 25 pounds on my back.

    Hammock from cloud71 material will be lightweight as well.
    For example
    chameleon hexon 1.6 from Dutch weights 430 gramms
    chameleon cloud71 from Dutch weights 236 gramms

    Here is my setup. I'm sure you could get lighter, but it still allows me to get to a 10 lb. baseweight and is comparable weight wise to my ground setup.

    Ridge Runner Hammock (double layer w/bugnet & DCF stuff sack) 19.2oz
    10' Autumnlite Kevlar Straps w/beetle buckles 2.3oz
    Spreader Bars - Carbon Fiber 6.5oz
    RR Stake Kit w/tie outs 3.1oz
    12' HG DCF Tarp w/ridgeline & sock 11.2oz
    EE Revelation 40 degree 17.9oz
    WB Lynx Underquilt 30 deg, plus attachments 11.7oz

    Total is 71.9oz or 4.5 lbs

    I included the weight of the topquilt and under quilt for the RR, because there is some weight savings there over a gathered end hammock or ground setup with a sleeping pad.

    Here is my system. Not the lightest but durable & easy to set up. Go to ground setup included in weight.

    Sleeping System
    Ground Cloth - Polycro Sheet (40 x 96 in) 1.6 oz
    Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sol (G2G- 6 modified sections) 5.4 oz
    Top Quilt: Enigma 20 filled with 850 down 22.8 oz
    Underquilt - Phoenix 20 Degree 950 down, 10D 13.6 oz
    * * * Total 2.7 pounds

    Hammock & Tarp
    Hammock Hexon 1.6 (SLD), 10 ft, 12' Kevlar 3.3 straps, Evo Loops 14.8 oz
    HG Standard DCF w/Doors+CRL+Nama Claws+Tieouts+Pole Mod Bungee 13.2 oz
    * * * Total 1.8 pounds

    * * * GRAND TOTAL 4.46 pounds * * * * * * * * * * *

    That’s exactly where I’d like to be on base weight...just gotta figure out how much $$$ it will take to get there.

    Thanks. I’ll definitely look into the cloud71. The site says it is see-through. Not sure it will make a difference given the UQ will cover.

    Any advantages over the HG palace over the standard? They look very similar.

    The setup I used for most of my AT Sobo comes in at just over 2.5 lbs (2.69 to be exact).

    Warbonnet Ridgerunner w/carbon fiber spreader bars
    Hammock Gear Palace w/carbon fiber tarp poles for tie outs
    6 Easton aluminum stakes.

    Most comfortable sleep on trail. I switched between 40* and 20* quilts so that weight varied a bit but overall base weight was about 11 lbs +/-.

    Do you have the DCF or silpoly tarp?

    Palace has better weather coverage, higher price, and is a bit bulker in pack. My day is probably coming, but the HG Standard Tarp has yet to let me down. Crediting this with low pitch & ability to close doors securely when necessary. The difference between Place & Standard is a discussion in its on right. Personal preference to me.
