    Dutch Mesh Snake Skin

Dutch offers a 12’6” Single Mesh Snake Skin. I have a 13’ WB Silpoly Thunderfly. It seems so close, only a 4” difference. I want it to work, if not perfectly, at least practically. Does anyone have any experience using this skin on a 13’ tarp?

    Thanks.

If you had your tarp on a CRL w/ prusiks or such you could slide them in a bit before running the sleeve over it.

I know that on some of my hammock skins I need to push some of the hammock in before closing it. Should work the same.

Some Vendors used to offer a 13 ft option on their order page - not a special custom order. I don’t know who has them now - just posting that they are out there if you Google for it or search the HF threads.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

The ends of a tarp are not very wide so it should be easy to stuff the ends in the snakeskin.

I just received a snakeskin from Dutch 2 weeks ago and my 12 ft tarp fit easily into the skin.

Thanks to all. It’s looking like I will go SLD, 13’ and take the guesswork out of things. Probably, maybe, might make the Dutch 12’6” work, but since the SLD is ready and available, and it’s what I want, I’ll go for it.

It might be worth sending Jared an email. He is amazingly responsive and I'm sure could advise you on the size or even custom length it for you. Everything I've ordered from him has been made to order and he seems happy to make adjustments based on the needs.

I have a 13' Thunderfly as well and use the Dutch 12' snakeskin. No issue at all. When you wrap it up a few inches of tarp are exposed at each end, but it's only a small bit and I don't even notice it.
