Bad Moon Hanging (with apologies to John Fogerty and CCR)

    [Verse]
I see the bad moon a'hangin'
I fear trouble on the lay
    I see moonbeams and lighting
    I see bad times today

    [Chorus]
    Don't hang around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise

    [Guitar Solo]

    [Verse]
Hope you got your hangs together
Hope you are quite prepared to lie
Looks like we're in for nasty weather
One guy is taken for a ride

    [Chorus]
    Don't hang around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise
The game is the best teacher.

    These are great.

To the OP, that story was so well written! I hated to think of who was doing that to you with their light!

Regarding the Rednecks, you have to be careful, if you feed them, they'll learn to associate the campsites with food and return.

    I can relate.

My jobs have taken me all over the states and even to Mexico. Some times I would be on the road 3 weeks or more a month. At times I would fly from one city to another mid week. At night in the hotel room it was not uncommon that I would wake up in a panic wondering where I was and confused about what city I was in.

This happened to me once while I was in a hammock under a full moon. The trees already dropped their leaves for the season so a very bright mottled moon light was projected on my tarp.

I woke up startled not remembering where I was for a few seconds until I heard the river flowing.

A few seconds of confusion followed by the thought of how lucky I was to be where I was. Floating in between two trees and next to river in the middle of nowhere.
