Still love my whoopies! I'd probably love straps, too.

~ All I want is affordable, simple, ultralight luxury. That’s not asking too much is it?
Still using mine but will also use cinch buckles or my new light weight daisy chain depending on which I find first in my stuff heap! Lol

Tried whoopies learned to build them. Hated them. I use cinch buckles & straps for the simplicity & ease of 're-adjusting. Still have a couple on old hammocks with them but Will be dumping them @ first opportunity. My straps & buckle system I think is as light as whoopies + tree straps & a lot easier to find appropriate trees & use. Bear in mind, I don't hike but motorcycle camp.
No whoopies for me - I had enough milking (cows) as a kid!
I keep whoopies in my pack for occasions when the only available trees are a bit too far apart. Most of the time, I just hang the hammock directly on the tree straps.
I use them all the time. Got them larks headed to the end of my tree huggers, with Dutch Whoopie Hooks in the adjustable loop. I latch the whoopie hooks to the continuous loops on my hammock. If my best trees are close, I just wrap the tree straps around the tree.
I enjoy tinkering with different setups and find I will often switch back and forth between cinch and woopies. I used woopies on the JMT to save a bit of weight and provide more hanging options. It does seem like I'm seeing more cinch systems on the tail though...more hangers in general actually. Maybe more beginners opt for cinch systems for ease of use? Not sure.
