    Do I have that right?

I did drive 105 southbound a couple weeks ago and it was fine for my Honda CRV. I was thanking the road maintainers doe clearing some trees that had been down on the road.
I like coming in from the south myself. Your CRV should be fine and you will be going uphill coming from the south. About 7 miles to base camp
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

We'll keep an eye/ear out on driving conditions.
Old NC 105 isn’t in terrible shape right now. South end is a little more rutted out than the north but still nothing a sedan couldn’t handle moving slow. Definitely keep an eye on the forecast as the date approaches - last month there were a lot of accidents and cars in the ditches due to ice. If you aren’t already a member of the linvillegorge.net forums that is a great resource. Don’t know if I’ll be able to make this trip but hope everyone has a great time!

It ain't always about hammer'n out the miles....Sometimes it's about just 'hanging out"!
