    WARBONNET RIDGE LINE SEAM

Hi Im making another tarp and this time thought Id try to copy Warbonnet ridge design. Instead of a flat felled seam.
Can anyone help to identify suitable material for the folded binding on the seam?
Looking at normal edge binding they seem a bit on the thick side.
Any supplier links or info would be appreciated.

I had the same question - see Ribbon for tarp ridgeline - nylon or polyester? - and Boston's advice was spot on. I got some single sided polyester satin tape and it looks like the stuff Warbonnet uses. I found that it is easy to handle and to sew. Would absolutely recommend it.

I love it when geniuses just recommended the cheapest easiest possible solution.

Just making sure here as I just want to construct it as Warbonnet do, as did ‘hutzelbein’
I believe they use a french seam.
So is this the correct process?
    1 sew wrong sides together.
2 trim off to leave seam allowance if reqd.
3 Fold over - right sides to outside
4 Sew on the edge binding in place.

Just the two lines of stitching, only one visible.

I cannot say if that is how Warbonnet does it, because I haven't opened one of their ridgelines, but that is how I would do it.

I think you want to stitch initially with the right sides together? Then when you fold it over, the right sides would be to the outside.
(I am assuming in #3 when you say "fold over" you mean flip the now-sewn fabric so the raw edges are on the "inside")
