Y'all store your down pillow in hammock stuff sack?

    Hi everyone,

I typically store my down pillow constantly attached to my hammock because I have an oversized bishop bag and I'm not worried about compression at all. This winter I swapped out my bishop bag to the smaller bishop bag that comes with a warbonnet XLC because of the adjustable opening that fits my cinch buckles. It's a squeeze fitting my down pillow in there.

Was curious what y'all do. Do you store them separately or go with the squeeze?

I want to take care of my baby.

    Thanks!

I have the dutchware pillow which is not down. I keep it in my pack since I have multiple hammocks that I might use, but only one pillow.

If nothing else it might be a good experiment to determine the effects (if any) if prolonged compression.

How do you like the down pillow? I chose the synthetic one over it mostly because I was concerned that the down would compress too much to provide support. Although, you don't need much support in a hammock.

Yeah, I do not understand the down pillow concept. Down is excellent at keeping fabric lofted, it has almost no support value. But there are many things in hammocking I do not understand.

To the original post. I only store items in the Hammock bag while on trips. At home I pretty much unpack everything and put it away in its area.

when backpacking I just throw my down pillow in with the quilts but at home it is hanging from the clothes bar in my closet.

when I first starting ham mocking I didn't use anything as a pillow. then I decided to go with a pillow and I tried many different pillows from academy (this was while car camping) and found out I just like a very small amount of support behind my head reason I went with the down. anything thicker made my head tilt towards my chest too much for my liking.

I like it actually. I used an extra shirt or fleece for the longest time, and I've been happy having it ever since. I don't need too much support though, just want a little bit of insulation for my head. I've appreciated the fact that the down pillow has very little bulk.

On that note, I would assume a synthetic pillow would provide better insulation...

I typically throw mine in with my quilts when I'm hiking, and store it loose when I'm not

I don't store my pillow with my hammock(s). Each hammock is in its own stuff sack with an attached label so I know what's in there and my pillow is tossed on top of a cabinet in the gear room.
