Line loc 3's on tarp ridgeline?

I got my HG winter palace dyneema and it has LL 3's on the ridgeline. I intend to prussic the tarp to a CRL and was thinking of cutting off thr LL3's and replacing with keychain rings. Anyone have suggestions on what else I could use? Also have small titanium drings and JRB drings.

Is it ok to prussic directly to the grograin?

I have decided to "try it until it fails and then learn". Been using them on the RL with no issues so far. Obviously, it's plastic and will fail at some point, but everything does.

It doeasn't make any sense to me why they would put LL3's on the ridgeline

I like ll3 on my ridge. There is nothing easier to adjust, esp under tension.
They will eventually fail, quicker so in super cold weather. For this reason, make sure you know how to hang your tarp WITHOUT the ll3 for when they do go.

In the end, I only spent a season with them as I moved to CRL and nama, but ll3 are still easier to adjust.

If you look at the drop-down menus there is an option for Beastie Ds (standard) or LLs, so maybe you missed it when ordering?

OK yeah I think maybe they would've done a combo by special request, otherwise all Ds or all LL.

That little clip looks like a good solution, however with a Prusik you could actually get by with simply tying it through the grosgrain webbing sewn into the tarp. It's a static application because there's no 'sawing' action to create abrasion and wear out the grosgrain. That said, I leave the Beastie Ds on there and tie the Prusiks to those.

I have been using Micro Linelocs on my ridgelines & guylines for years & have never had a failure. If you just want to get rid of them because they're not for you, I would just loop directly to the grosgrain. That's how my Micro LL's are attached & also have never had a problem.

I have a SLD Winter Haven and I had them put a beastie D and a line loc on my ridgeline. In case the lineloc fails I still have the beastie d. I’ve use the line loc almost every trip with no issues so far.

My hammocktent.com tarp, built by z packs, has linelocs on the ridgeline, as well as all the guy lines and doors. It's rock solid. Can't imagine a better system. I try to copy it on every other tarp I've owned.
