Has anybody had experiences with Wise owl outfitters?

I am looking for more budget gear (I need a 3 season underquilt and a tarp) and I found wise owl outfitters https://www.wiseowloutfitters.com/ they are a family run U.S. company based near Nashville, TN and I'm pretty sure their products or at least some of them are made in the us. All of their products have >4 star reviews and are not your everyday rebranded chinese hunk 'o junk. I have heard in some places on this forum that they are a cottage manufacturer and other places they are not and I need to clear the waters to find out if my money is going to a good place and the gear will last.

(I know everyone replying will recommend me to Dutchware, buttinasling, or hammockgear.com but please refrain I have weighed my options and I have a tight budget)

the things I was looking at were:
    https://www.wiseowloutfitters.com/pr...ock-underquilt 40* underquilt.
    https://www.wiseowloutfitters.com/pr...31904139477094 rain tarp.

Edit: some of the replys are talking about hammocks Just to clear things up I have hammocks and suspension I am looking for knowledge concerning the items linked above

I have no problems with the Wise Owl tree straps I’ve used (fine if you like daisy chain) — I’d look very closely at the specs on things, though. I think their hammocks run relatively short, and may not lend themselves to a very flat lay. Much of their stuff I’ve seen on Amazon has had that similar-to-others look you get with
Chinese imports, so if that’s an issue for you, read the fine print.

I choose longer and wider hammocks for my comfort. Everyone is different, maybe some are comfortable in a single hammock
9 feet long x 4 and a half feet wide
    Not Me
And maybe some will be more comfortable in a double hammock
10 feet long x 6 and a half feet wide
    Still not for me

I currently have a 12x6 hammock and it has been much more comfortable for me than shorter hammocks I have owned
    An ENO doublenest
    And a 11x5

I have just ordered another hammock for backpacking
11 and half feet long x 5 and a half feet wide

There are more than a few campers who are comfortable in 10 foot hammocks that are also wide
I choose longer hammocks for my comfort
    It ain’t for everyone
Then will need bigger pack, bigger tarp, bigger bug net. Those grams become ounces, ounces become pounds. And I’m currently shopping for lighter gear for backpacking

    Everyone is free to choose,
Get what is right for you

    Hello;
I happen to have a wise owl hammock and so far have been happy with it. I have it set up to sleep in tonight. I am just starting out hammock camping so I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case it didn't work out for me. I purchased a one tigris winter version under quilt and am doubling that up with a sleeping bag we had lying about. Tonight will be the first time I try the one tigris product so the jury is still out on that. The thing with the wise owl hammock is that it is a bit lighter material however, I seem to be pretty hard on my gear and it is handling my stupidity very well. I would say that it is worth the money spent, especially given the joy it has given me. I highly doubt I will go back to sleeping on the ground. IMG_2366.jpg

I have a cheap wise owl from amazon and it’s actually great. Bulky of course but rugged and i love it as my beater hammock. I overnight in a warbonnet or dutch usually.

Also wise owl has actual customer service. Holler at them via their website and someone in the usa actually responds.

My husband bought a hammock and tarp from Wise Owl. Regarding the tarp, it works okay for keeping debris from falling on you at night. And it does not leak. The coverage is not great for rain, though. The length is too short to give enough coverage for an 11’ hammock (which he realized he needed to sleep comfortably). The sides are too short to protect from splashes. It is also quite bulky to pack.

If you’re planning to use one only as a fair weather shade, it will work great. If you plan to hammock camp under it at drive up sites, a blue tarp from the hardware store would give better coverage. If you plan to backpack, look for a used tarp from a different brand.

Silk wadding for insulation. First time I've heard of this.

Yeah maybe the inner material is silk and that holds the insulation and the outer material is nylon? All the reviews said it was a 40* and kept em warm I live in Texas so the a 40* quilt is really more of a 4 season for me lol.
