    WB Wookie mod

I started hammocking 2 years ago with a RidgeRunner, absolutely love it. My daughter bought me a BlackBird XLC for Christmas and really like it too. So I ordered a 20f Wookie for it. I was looking at it spread out on the floor and came up with an idea to sew some loops on the corners of the quilt so i could use 1/4" bungie cords to attach it to my RR. Has anyone else tried this and how did it work out for you?

The Wooki is essentially a very lightweight gathered end hammock with the insulation sewn on diagonally. The Ridgerunner doesn't have a lay direction, and it is cut completely differently. If you wanted to use a Wooki with it, you would have to mod the Wooki big time (not just sewing a couple of loops on the corners but likely sewing loops into the quilt directly) - and it still wouldn't fit half as well as the Lynx. In my opinion it would be a waste of time and possibly also a good underquilt, as there is a high risk of damaging the Wooki. It would be easier to mod let's say a Costco blanket (or something similar) to fit the Ridgerunner.

I agree that it would be a waste of time to try and mod the Wookie for a RR. Better off to just get a Lynx.

Got my 5 grosgrain loops sewn on yesterday, my seamstress did a great job on it. Attached it temporarily with some shock cord and it works great. Just thought I would share.

That's a good looking mod on the wooki. How well does it seal up to the RR with you in it? are you still happy with the fitup to the XLC, after the mod?

It seals up perfect, I just had to adjust the length of the shock cords on the head end once. Without any weight in the hammock the head end of the quilt hangs down about 3 inches, but as soon as I lay in it, it seals up perfect with no gap.
Now that I know that it works, I’m going to order some small plastic hooks from Dutch so I can just hook the shock cord to the dog bones.
As far as fitment to the XLC, It didn’t change anything. I didn’t remove any of the excess material, I just fold it up between Wookiee and the bottom of the RR.
