    Lightweight beckett options

My old kevlar 1.9 straps are due to be retired. Iv loved the kevlar because they are low weight, no stretch and hold a beckett securely without an extra stopper or wrap. Not to mention are light.

I'm in the market to replace them, but all the normal retail spots no longer have them. Anyone have a retailer for straps or a roll of 1.9 or 2.2?

Otherwise, Guess I'll be looking for a substitute. Iv tried early gen dyneema webbing and wasn't a fan. Slipped too easily and rolled badly on the tree. Perhaps something new has come out in the past 2 years worth trying? Would be open to the idea of using cord and huggers, but amsteel slips too easily for my taste.

I use the dyneema 2.4g/ft webbing, and they hold a becket hitch just fine. I've never had it slip. I believe the slippage issues are mostly with the sub- 2 g/ft. webbing. the main downside of dyneema as opposed to kevlar is that it doesn't stay flat. That's not a huge issue for me though.

I'm still happy with the 3.3 Kevlar that Dutchware normally carries, although it's currently out of stock. (I've got an email alert set for when they're back.)

Two 12' straps weigh about 2.5oz, so not too bad.

I love this meyerstech blue polyester strap. Works with becket, buckles, and goes back flat with little fuss.

Been using it since I found it, no issues so far. Best combination of various strengths I’ve found so far.

Same here. With his evo loop, its a pretty great, simple combo, although packs massive compared to my kevlar setup. LOL

Space is a concern. I like my 35l for 3 season. Weight is a secondary concern, but I still rather not add an ounce or 2 if i can avoid it. I think I'll probably try the 2.5 dyneema for this spring. Thank you guys for the feedback!
I do enjoy the evo loops. The evo loops with the additional loop make releasing the beckett easier are a worthwhile investment too.

chapinb - have you used evo loops with beckett straps? I'd like to know if they work well in practice. Thanks.

Evo Loops are amazing as a tree connection. I like them better than my old Dutch Clips- which I sold.
