That's just 6-8" of 1/8" shock cord run through the D-rings then clove hitched with the guyline. It's clean and looks good, isn't permanent, and still leaves you with guyline connected to your tarp if the shock cord fails. It is also slightly more economical than loops larks headed to tour die outs because you don't have to knot your shock cord. Just get your guyline larks headed on then stretch the shock cord as long as it will along your guyline and clove hitch the ends together there.
