    Staking out the doors is my default but if the distance between the trees and/or diameter of trees permits tying off to tree I will do that too. I like options and the weight of two “extra” titanium stakes doesn’t bother me.

    I like one shock cord on each end of the tarp with a mitten hook to either wrap around the tree, stake to the ground, or connect the doors across the length of the tarp body to hold them open!

    I just tie off the doors to a rock or log. The doors don't need a whole lot of security.
