Trouble in Paradise! Hammock Fabric issue.

    Folks,

I’ve got what looks like a problem here with my OG Hammock - Original Gangster first hammock that got me hooked on this amazing way of life!

Is it a goner? This hammock has served me well - a very affordable 11 footer from Amazon. I’ve got a few other hammocks since this one, but I always tend to use this one for some reason. I think I just like dark olive.

What’s the prognosis from the experts. Would you use it? There appears to be no actual tear, just what looks like a runner I guess I’d call it.

    You can only fall once!

It all depends on the price of failure... then again, I love to live dangerously (as long as I'm prepared to fail).

The last time I saw a synthetic fabric with a line like that, it was a friend’s Scout leader pants — they catastrophically failed, and she had to borrow pants from a friend for the rest of the campout. I wouldn’t recommend trusting it under load, but like they say, never hang higher than you’re willing to fall. So have fun shopping for your new one!

Depends on if you are a car camper or a hiker. If you're a car camper, just bring an extra hammock. If you're a hiker, time to get a new hammock!

    I have to agree.

What is the upside of continued use?

Finding and hanging over sponge moss if available? We all want a video triggered by motion detector. You will be a hero, stung by whatever you land on.

Convert it to a gear loft or hammock chair.
