BTW, I just noticed this: If I open any of my pictures stored here at HF, there is a menu at the upper right of the picture called "Image Tools". One choice is "Edit Image". When I click on that, I can rotate the picture any way I want. If this is only happening (being sideways) on some pictures, this might be the easiest to deal with it, right here on the forum software.

Crawldaddy, see my last couple of posts. Particularly the last one on how to rotate or flip a picture with the editing tools available on HammockForums. So, I can rotate pictures either on my computer before I upload them here, or I can do so here after they have been uploaded.

Thanks for this! It’s been driving me mad having to upload images elsewhere before posting them due to the inside down issue.

Hopefully, what I posted will help. Either using the software on your computer or using the software here under "Image Tools/Edit Image". I think what used to happen to me was I would take a picture with iPhone. And sometimes I would be holding my phone in the wrong orientation, unlike with a camera where there was only one way to hold it. But as long as I was viewing that pic on apple iPhone or computer, it would automatically adjust for that. But if I copied it somewhere else, to a web site, or on a windows computer, it would be upside down or sideways. Used to drive me crazy until I figured out how to edit them. Now it is just a minor irritant.

Quick update - I’m still working on this.

I have updated some instructions that I think will help but I’m waiting on a final question regarding some site functionality before posting for y’all to review.

Revolving photos that upload horizontal in my File upload manager

Ok all - I've got some new instructions to test out.

    Feedback requested:
If you have time, walk through the instructions & give me feedback below. I have tested these but my eyes are glazing over from looking at it.
Note the section / image if something needs to be fixed or doesn't make sense.
Also let me know if a video in addition to the written instructions would help

    Cool new feature:
The Attachment option now includes the ability to resize your photo. Before you could only display a thumbnail unless you new the secret way to make that full size.
You can now select between Thumbnail, Medium, Large and Full Size.

    What's new?

    • Background on why rotating images can be an issue
    • Information on how to rotate an image before attaching
    • Instructions to change the Editor so you can later resize attachments
    • Resizing attachments

Not included / instructions up next:
Uploading images to HammockForums Gallery - I'll post these for review later. Not much changed other than instructions on rotating photos
Uploading from your phone - new instructions (for those not using TapaTalk)

Updated Instructions (it looks like a lot but I'm guessing most of you already know 90% of this)

Overview & Option 1 - Link to a hosted site (Imgur, Flickr)
    Option 2: Rotate & Attach - Part 1 & 2

    Option 2: Attach & Upload - Part 3, 4, 5

    Option 2: Insert & Resize - Part 6 & 7
