I have a little tarp I bought on Amazon marketed as a “picnic blanket” — it’s more or less waterproof and has corner loops, so I stake it down at the corners. I’ll get some water on it if there’s a lot of wind, but it keeps my shoes from being totally full of pine needles and the like, and it’s not bad to have as an emergency tarp should I ever need one. The brand names on those are all pretty fly by night, but a friend got a similar one with a totally different brand name recently.

I use the DD Hammocks Magic Carpet XL with my hammocks a lot of times, especially when weight isn't an issue, and use Tyvek or a Grabber emergency blanket/tarp under my tents. TIP : To soften and make your Tyvek ground sheet much, much quieter, put it though several cycles in the washer and dryer. You'll be amazed at how it eventually turns out!
