That will be a bonus! Got my travel plans laid out. I should be to Yates mid-morning Thursday. Now...to decide on meals. Thinking I might smoke a pork shoulder ahead of time to pull for BBQ and have plenty to pass around. I will, of course, also bring some homemade goodies sent from my wife. She doesn't do cold weather trips but at least she will be there in "dessert form"

Loner, I guarantee you will get no complaints, anything you choose is fine.
Time change weekend weather can be anything from warm to freezing cold with clear skies or rain sleet and snow.
I will watch ten day weather forecast when less than ten days out. Weather app Troy NC
We don’t have a sign up sheet, but if you are planning on Yates, please make at least one post, so I can have an idea of how many will be here.
We might be lucky enough to welcome hammock campers from other areas. As some great Hangs have been changed to 2022
We welcome hammock campers who might have to drive a ways2get here
Please read my post #21 and post #1
Thanks
I am thinking smoked pork loin cut into chops. Makes great snacks and sandwiches too.

Still in the process of moving to Murphy NC but we are just about done hauling stuff from the coast to the mountains. Our main problem is that we have a big sofa we are trying to figure out how to get it out of the house, can not remember how we got it into the house ( it was 27 years ago ). Only bad thing about the move is that I am now about 60 miles further away from Yates. Still trying to talk The Terminator in attending but regardless I am planning to come on down and bring Sam with me. Have seen more snow in Murphy in the last two months than the last 27 years on the coast. For the folks that have never attended this is a very family friendly hang with lots of trees to hang from. No water at Yates so be sure to bring some along with chairs for sitting around the camp fire. Lots of excellent hiking in area. Dusty Level road coming to Yates can be nice and smooth if recently graded or full of pots holes so go slow.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
