Looking forward to seeing you guys in a bit.

People arriving Thursday? I am tempted to pack up and come even if it is dark. To get an extra night in the woods.

What is the meal plans can I bring anything?

I will be there Thursday. I have "commissioned" chocolate chip cookies and chocolate oatmeal rasin cookies to be made for the group. I am also going to smoke a full pork loin for chop sandwiches.

So weird- I made this post and it said it was submitted, then it disappeared!

Anyway... I will definitely be there on Friday night and most likely Saturday night as well. Just wanted to say that I'm willing to chip in for any group meals and also get some suggestions for what to bring food-wise as I'm definitely a novice camper. I have an alcohol stove with a small (700mL?) pot that I used for some of those small pre-made meals from REI on my first backpacking trip last year, but I'm wondering if I need something bigger for cooking "real" meals with since it doesn't exactly have a simmer setting. I know you guys DIY a lot of stuff, but what would you recommend for store-bought stoves to use during car-camping? I see the soto windmaster mentioned a lot... Just curious, probably won't purchase at this point but I did just get a decent dividend from REI so I'll probably treat myself to something random on my way out.

More importantly, please let me know if I contribute anything for group meals on the way out! I also have a massive amount of firewood at my house that didn't get used as much as I thought it would this winter if we need extra. Looking forward to meeting yall and learning some new stuff!!

    NC Yates Hang Spring 2021 March 11 12 13 14

    Meals
Probably Friday Saturday Sunday breakfasts will be cooked by Tazmaniac, Peeeeetey, PappyAmos, and others. Some are cooking food they are bringing and some will cook food that you supply

Friday supper? Tazmaniac is cooking Wangs, chicken wings

Saturday lunch BBQ Joes is catering
Barbeque, chicken, ribs, potatoes three ways: mashed potatoes, potato salad, sweet potato casserole, red slaw, white slaw, banana pudding, sweet tea, unsweet tea, and a few buns and a few hush puppies.

Loner is cooking pork loin maybe Friday supper, and some fantastic cookies

Best to have some food that you can eat any meals just in case. Please notice that not all meals are group meals. And in case of good weather, more campers camping, can mean less food to go round.
Be prepared to feed yourself at any time if need be!?!??
Always a good idea to tip our Old Pros as a heartfelt thank you.
Also I’m asking each grownup to donate $20 to help cover cost of firewood, t-shirts, and Saturday lunch.

Yep. Pork loin for supper on Friday is what I was thinking. Gonna cut it into chops and have some rolls to make chop sandwiches. I'll bring some chips to go with that too.

Currently planning french toast and sausage for Saturday breakfast. Debra doing all the work..... I'm just browning it.

Might do something on the griddle for Friday breakfast and/or lunch. Do we have a head count for Thursday evening and Friday morning?
