    Tonight is the night

Thanks to some of the suggestions here I'm going all in tonight. I've never slept in a hammock, only napped. I bought a new Dream Hammock Sparrow but so far have not been able to get through a whole night sleeping in my house. I always quit, a quarter way through the night and get back in bed. But as was suggested here I need to commit. So that's what I plan on doing tonight and see what happens. I really want to make this work. I will report back tomorrow with the results. Wish me luck.

Now you get to wait for your package to arrive I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for my first nice hammock to arrive.

I spend many nights in a variety of hammock. Lately it has been the Sparrow because it fits nicely into a $5 hammock stand I scored at a local building materials recycling center. Getting up for a P break is a way of life for me. When I do I take the time to change my position in the symmetrical Sparrow in a methodical progression through the night. That is the primary reason for getting a sym model. However, it is not uncommon for me to wander mindless off to the bed following one of the later P breaks. I find sleeping in the hammocks very comfortable, but there comes a time at night when I simply want another option provided by the bed. The caveat to this is as summer starts coming around again (winter camping is now relegated to fond memories) I will focus on hammock sleeping so that I won't get so restless being in a hammock in the wee hours before daylight.

I’m lucky no waking to “go” for me. That said, some nights in the hammock are hours and hours of blissful sleep others fitful rest and still others no rest at all. I don’t know why but it’s pretty close to my indoor sleeping in a bed as well.

Give it a try but if not perfect the first time give it another. While my sleep generally isn’t the best my best sleep is in the hammock!

Fail, Fail, Fail. I dont think I'm going to be a hammock sleeper. An hour and a half and I was back in bed. It seems to be getting worse and not better. I'm actually getting frustrated trying to get comfortable. I move around a lot when I sleep, and it just doesn't seem to be working for me. I probably will wind up selling this thing.

I am also on my own quest and am still fine tuning.

What issues are you having specifically? Can you share a photo or two of your setup?
