Hi There. Been a lurker for a few years here - felt it was time to introduce myself.
Always been a camper, turned into an obsession a few years back. I got deep into ultralight backpacking. One direction I was steered when going deep on ultralight is MYOG. So I started making some gear.
I had an Eno Sub 7 I would sometimes take car camping, etc and really liked hanging out in it. I needed some literature to consume during a trip to the in-laws and picked up The Ultimate Hang. I realized I was doing it all wrong. As soon as I got home I ordered materials and sewed a double layer 11'er with knotty mod and footbox (Thanks for the instructions Jellyfish!). When I laid in it I was hooked.
I may have watched every one of Shug's videos Living in MN, I'm pretty inspired by his winter (well - summer too) trips to the BWCA and SHT - I would never have thought to tackle those types of trips in the winter - but now I'm itching to.
Here's a few pics of some of gear I've made. I've sewn/spliced a bit more than shown here.
The hammock that started it all:

12' x 12' square SiPoly tarp, originally intended to be used in various configurations on the ground - but it also makes a great winter tarp for hammocking (pls ignore the poor pitch over the hammock ).

11' MONOLITE hammock with integrated asym bugnet and bishop bag (and a dog):
