Moving to Knoxville area 3rd week of January- super excited to meet up with some fellow hammock lovers!! 5 year misplaced Southerner -From Louisiana-leaving crazy Seattle area and can't friggin' wait! Takin some time off before goin back to work once we arrive as a break is way overdue- so anytime after January 25th is great for me. I'm used to driving 50-100 miles for 1-2 overnights, but definitely new to the state and have gear/experience to get me down to probably mid 20ish if that'll work. I can possibly tote another 1-4 people in the truck if there are some needing rides and aren't scared to be closer than "recommended" during the drive (wood too- 8 ft bed that can fit whatever ya'll toss in- crew cab).

I might be in depending on dates.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

I might be able to drive up from London depending on the date and the weather. Also, I'd be interested in a Red River Gorge hang some time.

    ScarletGypsy,

Welcome back home. I too was a "misplaced southerner". Born in Tn, grew up in Ky and Oh, worked 26 years in WV, and them retired and moved back to Ky. I'll be about 1.5 hours north of you and interested in any hangs or trips within a 3 hour drive. Send me a PM if you want to coordinate anything.

Definitely WVWanderer! Hoping to leave this hell hole by the 16th and give ourselves a 5 day travel time with expectations of less. Will message once there and take a few days to get semi settled in, then see about some coordination- will all be new places to me, but that just makes it more exciting: )
