Jimswms - maybe it has to do with “labeling”. The Tensa4 isn’t hardware, it’s an art sculpture. At one time, I almost had a beautiful wood strip kayak over the mantel piece. But, alas, the cockpit was a bit too small for actual use. It had to be more than just “art”.

Tpatter, it’s nice to swing over and plant one’s feet on the ground like from a chair. But off the ground is off the ground - no matter how low. All those rising from a deep squat will tone you up should you take up power lifting.

Surfer96815, in your search, beware of inexpensive stands from Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s. The problem is, they are usually too short for an 11 ft sleeping hammock. You may find one that works, but be sure you use the hammock hang calculator to determine, given the length/height of the stand, and the length of the hammock that you’ll actually be off the ground. You may have a slight edge if the hammock uses a structural ridgeline because you could suspend it a bit shallower than that nominal 30 degrees. Make sure you check that the resulting forces are within the stand’s specs.

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

This part has me curious. The best hanging spot indoors at my place is in the middle of my little bakery attached to our home. When I can't sleep at night I end up in a couple different places, lately in the basement in a hammock, but it's not a great setup. What keeps me from setting up in the shop is taking it down on a work day when I'm in there early. I don't want to deal with that when I'm just trying to find coffee and get to work. Can the Tensa fold up and out of the way with a hammock attached or is that asking for trouble? Without taking the whole contraption apart. Ideally, detach the tether(s), fold it in half and move it into the garage through a door..

I can fold up the tensa stand with my hammock attached almost instantaneously. Simply start to exit on the wrong end, and mousetrap the whole thing. Get up off the ground, kick the feet together, pick it up and move it where you want. Faster than setting it up.

    I'm almost serious here.

Remember to look around and say, “I meant to do that."

Yes, the Tensa4 can easily accommodate that. When you set it up again for the night, you might need to re-adjust the different lines a little bit, but most likely not; just unfold it, tether the foot end and done.

    Oh yeah, I get it!

I ran the idea of an indoor hammock by her and read that first few milliseconds of response (horror). She backed it up with, 'aren't hammocks for enjoying the outdoors and fresh air'.

I knew when I married her that she was much smarter than me!

I considered this but wanted more of a traditional setup for a big tarp and not the counter-balance deal.

I love this bipod setup: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...od-style-stand
