If you want to use tenacious tape you'll need to use the sil specific stuff. Otherwise a cut a small silnylon patch and glue on with some sil seam sealant. Apply even pressure overnight.
There's a relatively new Tenacious Tape from Gear Aid specifically for silnylon/silpoly....

Awesome
REI by me has this in stock
Will pick some up tomorrow
Should I patch from both sides?
Should I pitch the tarp taught before and during patching?

I haven't used this particular stuff yet but I think it's intended to be used on one side... video demo seems to indicate outside.
Probably not necessary to pitch it to put on the patch. Says it's machine washable so it must hold pretty well!

REI has two versions of Tenacious tape. One is about $2.00 or $3.00 more expensive and comes in a plastic tube container. I couldn’t believe that tube added so much to the cost so I read the back of the card. The more expensive version says the tape is waterproof, the less expensive version doesn’t mention “waterproof” - in case that makes any difference.
