Clear Lake snow accumulation is now 7" after the rains. Gov't Camp forecast for Friday and Saturday is rain with low around 30, high 42. Hopefully there's enough accumulation on the path for the pulk to pull in firewood.

NWhiker links to the ODOT cameras at Frog Lake turn off here: Frog Lake & Blue Box Pass Cameras.

I may make it there Thursday afternoon, if not I'll be heading out early Friday with a 5 hour drive.

The trail leading in is heavily used by snowmobiles so it should be good and packed...hopefully by it being packed it will take longer to melt.....fingers crossed!!!!

Spoke to Mugs the other day and him and Mio unfortunately won't be making it this year...
We may have less members than previous years and we keep a fire all weekend.... warmer temps will help some with wood consumption... but we still may wanna bring an extra bundle of wood than normal.

So I forgot the ribbons to mark the trail in....if anyone has never been there before....
just head out the main trail on the right side as you come into the parking ....then it will split stay to the right and follow that to another split and take a right....then go down the hill and turn at the first left....follow that to the campground stay to the left side and the camp is near the first vault toilet....also look for the big white tarp

Weather was very cooperative! Just a brief shower before dawn Sunday. Friday night low around 27 degrees. Trails were crusty calling for spikes instead of snowshoes.

And about a dozen hammocks with quite a few local visitors, some could join the hang next year.

    Was great seeing everyone again!

Miss hanging with y'all, going to have to plan a trip back out that way for one of these in the future.

I forget who but someone was asking about the foam pad I brought to the Yeti hang. It's on Amazon as "ALPS Mountaineering Foam Camping Mat" for about $17.

It's reasonably light, I left it full length. Did very well to insulate my cushy area from the cold snow around the camp fire.
