I have some fleece I was gonna cut out and put some Velcro on to close up behind the head. Precisely because you had mentioned that in a video and on here and I also couldn't easily find something like that online. That's where the lazy part comes in didn't do it yet and have been sleeping inside in the DIY Tensa instead. I guess I really have to do it one of these days since it's already mid Feb. Still some cold weather left but we actually haven't had a -40 this year yet. Weird year but snow wise it's much better than last year.

I guess thanks to Covid it doesn't really help but a 29EUR Ryanair flight would get you there otherwise. In-laws near Dresden in Germany are sitting at - 18C nowadays. As in you might get lucky soon. You're way north of that.

Yes, once it’s under control €29 wouldn’t break the bank to experience some colder conditions, the Black Forest looks very appealing to a hammock camper as well...guessing the weather would be more humid/warmer being more SW than Dresden.

Several years ago, I bought an adjustable fleece balaclava by Seirus from REI. It’s kept me warm down to my lowest hang of 2°, and because of the fleece covering my mouth and nose it collects much of the moisture that would otherwise land on my top quilt.

I think I solved the cold toes issue. Just smash every toe with a log before bed.

Last night I was riding my bike and reached down to try and grab a piece of tape off the rim...BOOM! Caught my finger in a spoke. At 36° my fingers were pretty cold by the end, but the injured finger was nice and warm, almost hot, the entire time.
