    Scandinavian Wookie

My wife is a cold sleeper. She wound up with a 0 degree incubator a few years ago, but she wants to use it for essentially all temps, so her pack was always stuffed full of down. Last year I got her to switch to a 20deg wookie, which has been working out pretty nicely, and packs much smaller. On one of our last trips, we were talking about some winter trips, so I knew she was going to want a colder UQ to feel "safe". She has a nice 40deg top quilt, but if its forecast to be below 50, she brings the 0 degree burrow lol.

She went straight for the Scandinavian wookie. Reverse lay to fit how we hang our hammocks side by side.

This thing is a wall of down, but there isn't much of it as "wasted space", so its still reasonable in pack size and weight. There isn't much info to be found about them on the internet it seems, and no temp ratings really. I can only assume it would be much colder temps than a 0 degree UQ.

I'd try it out if we happened to have a severe winter here in Indiana, but I highly down that will occur! I can atleast be comfortable knowing her cold weather gear will easily match my greylock 4 and Old rag mnt 0 degree set.

Yeah, the Scandinavian Wooki has absurd amounts of down in it (17 oz of 950 FP). That should take you down to at least -20°F.

    It does look cozy.

I've looked at that one before on the WB site, and wondered how it would be. Gadzooks that is puffy, and looks like it would really get 'down' to some pretty low temps. I hope she feels comfortable in it. My wife is a cold sleeper too, so I might consider it someday.

A lot of it can be mental I think,

The coldest we’ve camped together to date was in the single digits.

So while really to me, it’s overkill, to her it gives that extra comfort factor, and if that helps her sleep easier, it’s worth the extra ounces.

Plus it’s nice to know if we get a record low forecast of -30 or something I could borrow it from her and sleep well!!

I love the scandinavian wookie during winter , incredable cosy. Looking for a winter wookie because here in Belgium we no longer experience very cold wearher. Or maybe a 20 wookie with socket to block the wind.
