I just wanted to quickly report back. I no longer worry about Amsteel getting cut either. I found some grommets I still had for leather working and I had them in the right size to fit into the holes in the EMT. Yay.

I bent those a bit on two sides to contour to the conduit and glued them on with some glue I still had from making arrows. It's a hot melt glue, which is elastic and shock resistant (after all its made for glueing arrow tips into the shaft and then that part gets shot into all sorts of materials over and over at high speed ).

This is brilliant! I've never really had a video like this before! Just awesome! I would also do this to myself, but I understand that oh, such beauty will definitely not work for me)

I so want to try building a Tensahedron stand...or get one.
I’ve been bitten by some of the DIY posts and like trying to get stuff to work (at least until I hit the frustration wall before the project gets done &#128516.

    Failure alert!

I would strongly recommend NOT using plastic coated wire for connecting the ends of the poles. I found out in a 12" fall to my death (ha!), that the sharp edges of the pipe holes can cut the plastic and allow the plastic to slide off at the clamps. I think the poles were not in place properly and had a twist in the cables adding extra pressure on the sharp edges of the holes.
