JRB's 40 degree SS is the only piece of gear that made the cut when I went UL.

Not real big on second owner insulation, but it was bought used right here on HF and still makes every trip. Never been cold from the top down and I nest UQ's in December and January in deer camp.

Wow - how low can you go with your Sierra Stealth? No cold spots from sewn through design?

Nope. No cold spots. 17 with no wind for the lowest. I was sleeping in med base layers, wind/rain pants, and Patagonia Std down sweater, knit hat and fleece hood.

I also froze my butt off in the same spot @30 with a strong wind until I got smart enough to lower the tarp and close one end off with make shift doors. I'd use an UQP now. I still wasn't cold from the top down. You could feel the wind sucking the heat out of the UQ. After a few hours of waiting on the wind to settle down my body lost the ability to recharge the insulation between gusts, and I got cold cold. Just getting up moving around to make adjustments however warmed me up enough to give my insulation kit a chance and it worked fine the rest of the night.

Experience is always the best teacher, if you forgot to watch Shug's video that covers all that cold stuff.

For context and reference, can you share your UQ info, especially with that 17deg night that you mentioned?
