    Tree Straps

    Hi Guys
I am wondering how to make some tree straps out of the supplied atlas looking straps that came with the hammock and making some woopie slings to reduce weight, the atlas looking straps are bulky & heavy...cheers.

    Welcome, Bud.

If you can find some 1" wide polyester webbing with 1500lb rating, this makes for a good, inexpensive alternative. Make a loop in one end that is tied with a simple overhand knot, or skip the loop and tie to trees with a slipped buntline hitch.

The whoopie sling is connected to the strap with a Marlinspike hitch, using some sort of small dowel or stick for a toggle.
