    Hammock length

I'm sure its already been discussed at least once but I couldn't find it. Anyway, I am buying a hammock setup for my son for Christmas. He is 5'10" or so. My question is, will a 9'6" hammock be fine or should I find him something longer? I own a Ridegrunner so I can sleep on my stomach and know next to nothing about a regular hammock. any input would be much appreciated.

I'm about an inch taller than that. I'm pretty comfortable in my 11' DIY gathered-end rig. When I had a shorter hammock, I found I couldn't get comfortable. YMMV

Yep, I'm 5'9" and find an 11' hammock to be a good fit as well.

Get an 11-12’ hammock. Or another ridge runner

Unless he is getting ready for another growth spurt, I'd say stick with the standard 11'. 10' are typically for smaller folks. I have a 12' SLD Trail Lair, and it is a comfortable as my 11' hammocks. However, it also requires me to purchase a larger tarp if I plan on using it for camping. The only reason I ended up with the 12', instead of an 11' for my 6' height, is it was a great purchase on ebay.
