    Dream Tex in Purple

    Hey,

Just curious if anyone has purchase a Warbonnet hammock in the purple dream tex? I’m thinking about buying a ridgerunner but I want a fun color. Any of you happen to have pics of this color? Thanks!

Another Dream Tex question - as far a stiffness. Is a single layer Dream Tex as the same as a single layer 1.6? but lighter. Or does the pattern give it support closer to a double layer 1.6, only lighter? Apologies for the Hijack but I figures it was a DreamTex topic.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Lol, no problem. I have a dream tex black bird and 1.6 chameleon and they both feel pretty similar as far stretch. Both are single layers. Forum member Hutzelbein from the thread below talks about the fabric similarities. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...n-vs-Dream-Tex

Dream Tex is a 1.6 oz per square yard fabric. So while it could vary in other properties, it would weigh the same as a single layer in any other 1.6 fabric.

    Warbonnet writes:

Available in our new Dream–Tex fabric… built just for hammocks, it combines a traditional ripstop weave with a bias-directional diamond grid to create a fabric that has an incredibly comfortable cotton-like texture. Add in a fantastic strength to weight ratio and just the right amount of stretch and you have an ideal hammock fabric. 40 denier 1.6 osy

So the fabric weight is 1.6 ounces per square yard, same as e.g. the Hexon 1.6.

One layer of Dream-Tex definitely does NOT give you the support of a double layer 1.6 oz/sqy fabric. It has very little stretch for a 1.6 oz fabric, but both the lightweight and the heavyweight double layer hammocks have less stretch.

Thank you for the fabric updates. The heaviest “arrow” in my quiver is about to get a much lighter (with aid of CF poles) sibling.
