tie outs on the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC vs the Hennessy Deluxe Zip XL

Anyone switch from the hennessy hammocks with the tie outs below the net to the blackbird xlc with the tie outs on the net? Seems like they are in the way to me. Just got the blackbird and used it once for 2 nights and I am not sure I will use it again because of that.

tie outs on the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC vs the Hennessy Deluxe Zip XL

I always get in and below the tie outs. Enter and exit from the foot end also when using a tarp.

I like that on the WB the bugnet is off of my face. Takes a few tries to get used to egress but I only tie out when using the bugnet.

If I use a tie out at all, it’s on the side my head will be on to keeps some clearance from the bug net. But that is also easily done with a piece of extra clothing or inflatable camp pillow as a spacer. For me, the hammock tie outs interfere with a sung fit on the UQ - which likes to rise a little above the hammock tie-in points.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I have the Eldorado (minus the BB XLC shelf on the bug net, the body is the same) and a Dutchware Half Zip with tie outs on the body. I prefer the WB tie outs on the net because it does a much better job keeping the net off my face. It's ok, but not ideal in the DW. I assume any other hammock with the tie outs on the body would be about the same.

As far as the WB tie outs being in the way...I don't find them too big of a deal, other than you can't to flip the net over the ridgeline when getting out.

I have not used the tie outs on my BB's in 10 years.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I vastly prefer the tie-outs on the net instead of on the hammock. For one thing, having the tie-out higher up gives you more room in the hammock and keeps the net further away from the head. Also, it's much easier to dive under the tie-outs than having to step over them. I often tangle up in hammock tie-outs - no fun. In addition, I like to stake out the net even if there seem to be no bugs around. With the net tie-outs I can simply leave the zipper open without the net hanging in my face. And in the rare case I want to go netless, the tie-outs stay on the net, not the hammock, where I don't need them and they are a tripping hazard.

I just bought the blackbird. Been in Hennessey’s for 20 years. Any suggestions on the support tie outs for the under quilt other than what I used?

I use s BB XLC and almost always use the bugnet and shelf guylines. If I need to do something under the tarp and considered about tripping over one of the lines I just slip it off the stake and toss it out of the way. The flexible guyline, by design, makes it upeasy to quickly remove and pop back on the stake.

I am still struggling with those two ribbons I think are to secure the underquilt side to the hammock body. i don’t see hiw they attach to UG and they just get caught in the zipper...grrr!...debated cutting them off but haven’t yet.

I think those are for tying back the bugnet.
