    Nothing wrong with that, however you can skip the slider portion by feeding the non-knot end of the loop through the knotted end and hook it around the knot itself.

    Google "Evo Loop" for further info on how it works. Typically, Evo loops use either a button (preferably) or a diamond knot to join the loop, however I've tested with a larger Figure 8 knot — in case I needed to make similar in the field — and it holds fine in the Evo configuration.

    For something even quicker for the stated application, check out the slipped clove hitch.

    You could try a series of butterfly knots on one line as well. They hold fast and you can create big or small loops. One of my favorite knots and they're super easy to remember.
