Glad to see the updated design. I've got a large one of the old version that I use for clothes. The stiffer grosgrain and heftier buckles is a huge improvement.

the original ones had velcro to seal and I wish it didn't, with this new roll top you don't need the velcro to seal it

Yep, I have a couple of bags with and without Velcro, I much prefer the ones without.

Yup, I don’t like velcro anywhere because it snags on fabrics and threads and prematurely wears them. Especially on a dry bag because there is a good chance I will be wearing a long sleeve wool shirt and it’s pretty tricky keep it from snagging my shirt when packing or unpacking the bag. I try my best to eliminate velcro from all of my gear.

That's the main reason we don't use a velcro closure on them anymore

Other vendors (Zpacks) uses a Velcro that is non-destructive. I stuff my quilt down into the dry bag, attach the Velcro and then squeeze all the air out. This makes the volume of the bag as small as possible. I guess you can do the same without the Velcro closure, but it would not be as efficient.

Oh dang I wish mine had the stiffer grosgrain! Using it for a gravity filter, that would really help. Right now it's just a messy roll. And the small clip worries me hanging all that weight. But it works great with no issues so far.

Agree completely with this. I don't know precisely what zpacks is using but it's the same stuff as on the roll-top closure for their packs and it has never been a problem for me. I have found other types of velcro to be annoying, however this stuff is the exception.
