    Drip line knot?

Does anyone have a good knot for drip lines that won't loosen on its own?
I've been using prusiks with thin lash-it type cordage but it's so slippery the knots loosen and fall off inside the stuff sacks, when set up, if the wind blows, if I'm not wearing clean underwear.
They use any excuse to come off.

BigBill, if your drip line is made of Lash-It (rather than being tied to Lash-It), I'd switch to cotton. You can still buy cotton shoelaces in many places.

Lash-it probably doesn't absorb much water and isn't designed to hold knots. You can cut a cotton shoelace into many drip cords. The cotton will absorb water, swell and become more effective. Whatever knot you use (garth hitch) will probably bind tighter.

You can attach it to your ridgeline with any "loop" knot (ridgeline through the loop), just as a "keeper" so it stays on the ridgeline. Then you can add some other hitch (double half hitch) as the water block knot. If that knot loosens, the shoelace will still say on the ridgeline instead of escaping off into the forest.

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I use world famous Nail Knot shown on Grog Knot App, it’s also called Animated Knots.com

I use six wraps if I remember correctly.
After tightening Nail Knot, loose ends hang down from both ends of Nail Knot about two inches—for dripping.
Nail Knot will hold its place on tarp ridgeline (my tarp ridgeline is set under tarp)

When needed, I can slide Nail Knot in either direction, then it will hold its place until next camping trip.

Nail Knot, is easy enough to tie, and it stays tied.
You only tie it one time!

I’m also a fan of using shoe laces. Easy to take on and off and work great

I just use a bit of ShamWow cut into a thin strip, loosen the weave on LashIt, ZingIt or Amsteel and slip it right through the weave. Once you tension it, it is not going anywhere.

I use some shoe laces. Strips of some old cotton T-shirts would work. I larkshead them on to the hammock suspension a few inches under the tarp. I remove them in the morning and they go into the small sack with the tree straps. Learned it right here on the forum.

Another tip. I got an old safety vest from a neighbor when he was working for road crews. I cut out about 14 inches of that highly reflective stuff. It's bonded to very lightweight fabric. I used a hole punch to put a hole in it and use a few inches of Zing-It to attach that to tarp ridgeline. They are VERY reflective and if at 3 AM you've taken a few to many steps away from your rig, it makes it a lot easier to find! I was at a hammock hang and we sat around the fire...My rig (and lots of others) were off in the woods at at 10 PM was a bit tough to spot without the reflective!
