To start I love the ease and convenience on my LineLoc 3s. I actually have them on my main ridgeline of my tarp as well as the guylines. I didn't have an issue for about a year, but now the lines are starting to slip on the ridgeline. Basically they don't hold tight tension very well. Anyone else have this happen or know a possible solution?
What line are you using with them?
Regardless of line type, if there is slippage through the Lineloc, a solution is to add a half hitch or slipped half hitch after adjusting to the proper tension. That somewhat defeats the purpose of using the hardware to begin with though.
If you're using line smaller than 2mm, Dutch's tarp worms might be something you'd like. No slipping with those. They can be a little more tricky to operate with cold hands though.

Dutch also has the Slide Lock that works with his 1.3 mm reflective dutch cord as guylines. I have this setup on a couple of my tarps. Stingerz on all of them for the ridgeline, though.

I have some of those also and they do work as advertised if they're under constant tension. I'd have some concern as to whether they would also loosen under cyclic loading, like during extended periods of wind buffeting. I haven't really used them other than some fiddling. What has your experience been?
I also think it's kind of ironic how "big" they are, considering the primary motivation to use them would be to work with cordage in the ~1mm range.
zing it is not enough during even mild wind, 2mm cord recomended, I very much prefer lawson
+ 1 for Lawson (and for Z-line). A year or so ago, Lawson developed and released 2.5mm Glowire/Guywire, which he says is the best fit for the LineLoc 3. That said, IMO it's also pretty heavy cordage for tarp applications, but it's great to have choices in life.

I don't feel comfortable with Linelocs on the ridge tie outs, but do use them at the ground corners on my tarps. All three tarps use Zpacks 1.2 Reflective Z-Line. The standard and standard with doors have Lineloc V's sewn in (I removed the Beastie D's and sewed on the linelocs). As mentioned above, I put a slipped half hitch in after tensioning.. helps keep the line up off the ground. The Palace has Lineloc 3 Hooks which normally won't work with 1.2mm line. I put a small notch in the linelocs to better bite on the smaller line. I haven't had any of them slip, but again.. I have the half hitch as backup
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
