    Backpacking with my son

Me and my son went camping again up to a quiet lake surrounded in clouds. Indian heaven where Indians used to gather during the summer months up until 1959 or so. It is a magical place. Me and my son have been needing some R and R. We met a man about my age visiting his dads remains there as we walked up. He said his dad had been bringing him up there since he was 8 or nine. It seemed fitting we talked to him as I was bring my 9 year old up there for his first time.
We used our Warbonnet xlc original multicam.
We used the 20° hammock gear insulation.
    2QZQ accessories
    Hammock gear hex tarp
Leloo used a sheet of bushwhacked Warbonnet fabric which I rigged into a ground sheet/ rain kilt, staked it down and she laid on my poncho liner swagman roll.
We used the uco brass candle
And the stone bridge brass and mica candle holder for lighting.
We cut down an 80 year old sub alpine for that was standing dead for fuel and some scrub alders for a tripod. Since there is so many knots in them we built some chop less fire stand which let us cook and kept us warm. We used johnnys foldable bow saw he got for his birthday.
We deployed the jacks r better universal 10’ x 12’ tarp for a dry place to be for the first day.
I fixed fried spam and taters for Johnny and we shared a Canadian bacon pizza from mega bites (the old Smokey’s) which will be a staple from now on to bring in the first day!!!
I cuddled with my son in the XLC. I kept thanking God for the opportunity to hug my son all night in a cozy embrace inside a bubble of warmth surrounded by Christmas smells, misty clouds, and forest sounds. Just simply the best. Watching the twinkle in his eyes makes me so happy. It’s like stoking a fire in my heart.

Special times revel in them. This makes me smile thank you for sharing. Is that Stonebrige Lantern going to be a pass down heirloom to him some day?

Thank you to you. Yes all my stuff should be passed down. Him and my daughter will have to comb over the gear I hope.
