    Question Questions about Houston TX

Here's the situation: I'm from the desert in southern California, where it it hot and dry.

In a few weeks, I'm going to visit my brother in Houston, TX, where it is hot and humid. I'm planning on sleeping in a hammock in the backyard (for obvious reasons).

Here's the question: What sort of gear do you use for a hot, humid night? Especially insulation?

Maybe a light UQ (vented possibly)
    UQ Protector.
    Hook up a fan perhaps.

You might just need an under quilt protector (UQP) on the bottom. Even in the warmer temperatures, it only takes a little breeze to feel the heat loss. Whatever you use on top, you can usually vent/remove as needed.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Check the weather also. Tonight (10/18/2020) a cold front just hit here in Dallas. It was 86 degrees today. 10:30 PM and it's down to 65 on it's way to 50 tonight. NEXT weekend, they are talking lows at 40 and a high of 60. Houston won't be as cold, but it can happen.

Agreed. Maybe 2 fans. One blowing from above and one blowing from below.

November in Texas is odd. You might end up needing insulation that is good for 50DegF. It might be warm and rainy.

You will most likely encounter flying and biting insects.

I can't speak for Texas, but for humid summer nights here in North Carolina I strongly recommend a ridgeline fan. I have a tripod one from Opolar (on Amazon); the flexible tripod arms will wrap around the Ridgeline, and it's very adjustable without hanging down far enough to hit my head on it. I also have a very light UQ I use if it's below 75 or so at night.
