I like my titanium Shepherd's hooks for really hard ground.But the vast majority of the time here in Georgia I use Lawon's aluminum stakes as they are long enough to penetrate the forest duff and still be seen in the morning for easy retrieval.I start them with the hands and then use a well directed push with a foot.I have never bent one and seriously doubt that I can since I am a 150 pound weakling.
