    Bayan with Lynx

    Hi all.

I have a Ridgerunner and a Lynx UQ. Problem is that the RR is too narrow and i wake up with sore shoulders. I’m thinking of getting the wider Banyan bridge but would love to still use my Lynx. Does anyone know if the Banyan and Lynx will work together? Maybe a bit of shockcord on the Lynx could do the trick...?

They would work but it may not be the optimal fit. Lynx could possibly be too narrow perhaps? But more than likely will be fine. (what a wishy-washy answer I gave but one will never know until one tries.)
I've put several UQs on my RR and they all did the job.
    Good luck.

May not be as it is a fairly new product and has been unavailable for a bit as far as I know.

Is the Banyon wider than the Ridgerunner?

I thought there were a few who owned both and reported no issues with quilts fitting between them?
From what I can glean from reviews (but no direct contact with a Banyon)- the differences are mainly 'up top' not so much in the bridge body themselves. The spreader bars are a similar size I believe?
As Shug mentioned- I don't believe many Banyon's made it to the wilds before Covid killed production.

From my end- I have an end bar prototype. I adapted the loco libre RR quilt to fit that bridge by adding some shock cord loops to one end prior to attaching the UQ.

The Ridge Reaper fits perfectly on both the banyan and the ridge runner . I'm sure the lynx will do the same.

A wishy-washy reply is way better than no reply at all, and I get your point - thanks

Us European hangers have to deal with expensive shipping and a great deal of taxes on imports, so I would like to get it right the first time around. That being said, I believe you're right Just Bill; the spreader bars are the same length so properly not much difference in the width and lay of the two.
The only "problem" I have in my RR is a slight shoulder squeeze, but it's still a way better lay than in my gathered end hammock.

Georgecarr that UQ brings condensation to my panties I've had a 3/4 UQ for the past 8 years and can't wait to get properly tugged into an all down cocoon.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Have a great weekend

If you have shoulder squeeze in a RR and the Banyan has the same length spreader bars, wouldn't you also have shoulder squeeze in a Banyan? If the fabric of the Banyan is wider than the RR and the bars are the same length, the squeeze might even be worse.

cmc4free; that's my conclusion as well, but i am fairly ignorant when it comes to bridge hammocks. I've watched Spiguyvers video on the Banyan and he makes it sound like the Banyan gives him less shoulder squeeze, though I don't see how this is possible with specs being so similar..

I guess you might not know unless you try. Which stinks because of the international shipping issues you mentioned. Too bad there aren't more of them in the wild - else better info from owners might be available.
